day 9 bmachado
In our first week, as i told you before Will and Larry came in and talked about carpentry. In the second week of Junior Carpenters My group completely re-painted one of our board because it was not at its best, in other words it was not exactly professional. So in the end of re-painting our board it is now blue and yellow and looks so much more professionally done. Also this week we finished sewing the actual Corn Bags that we toss into the corn hole, but we had only played on round and the corn bags started to break open which made the corn come out. Oh no! And thanks to Ms. Smith (Michael F.'s grandma) we did get them sewn. She also came in really late so we were really lucky! For the GaGa Pit I painted my name in it even though I did not do much work on it we still thought that every body should have there name on it so that every body would know who was in the Junior Carpenters. Today all we did was play GaGa And a little bit of Corn Hole. And the most fun part of this whole inter-session was being able to use the mitre saw because when you push down and cut it makes you feel like you have a lot of power and it is just really fun, but dangerous. Tomorrow we will be presenting our work to the whole school and it will officially be open to the public

day 7 bmachado
1) If you had 27 2 by 4 pieces of wood what is the total width and height?
It could be three answers, one would be 40.5 and that is the height the width would be 3.5 if they were stacked, the second could be 94.5 if the pieces were side by side the height would be 1.5, the third could be 1.5 in height and 3.5 in width.
2) What was the biggest, challenge you faced while you were working?* What steps did you take to defeat your challenge? The biggest challenge I had was probably sanding off the paint and then repainting because the sanding was very hard. The steps I took to defeat this challenge was watching and learning how others did it and trying hard.
3) What is your work plan for tomorrow?* Be very detailed. My work plan for tomorrow would be to finish painting and to put on the legs.

The next process is drawing the design and we will get there by using pencils then ordering the paint and then we paint.

day 3 bmachado
Past 3 Days
The past days have been so fun that time went fast, some times it was boring and sometimes the time felt like it was going fast when it was going slow!!! On day 1 Larry Rosenstalk came in and told us of his life. We did math problems. On day 2 we measured the lumber and then went to snack. We then were able to cut scrap pieces of wood with handsaws. On day 3 Will Spenser came and told us how to use mitre saws safely and helped us cut the lumber and we made the Gaga pit and corn holes!

day 2 bmachado
1) When measuring your lumber this morning, what came up and what did you notice that may make cutting difficult in future?
I noticed that the wood had knots and it is hard to cut through.
2) If you had to teach someone how to use a hand saw, what would you say? Be specific for safety reasons.
I would say to use goggles and gloves.
3) What is the magic # we repeated 10 times and why is it important to remember?
It is 67.5 and it is important to remember because it is the angle of the gaga pit.
